the kee ming yuet collection

These stunning Qing dynasty robes, from the 19th century, were acquired by an avid collector, Kee Ming Yuet. Whilst her children were at school in the UK, Ming Yuet continued her passion of collecting antiquities and met Marilyn Garrow, an antiques dealer who operated a concession  for Oriental textiles at Liberty's Regent Street, London in 1983.

As a result, Ming Yuet acquired these fabulous robes/ textiles from Marilyn who had explained that the robes were brought back from China to the UK by members of the Allied Forces in 1900s, and their descendants had now placed the robes / textiles in her hands to sell.
