FROME FESTIVAL EVENT RECIEVES SELL-OUT RESPONSE

‘ever wondered what it’s worth?’ event with Frome Festival RECEIVES RAPTUROUS RESPONSE

On 5 July, Dore & Rees hosted its first event as part of the Frome Festival to sell-out response, with funds raised going to support renovations at The Bennett Centre.  ‘Ever Wondered What It’s Worth?’ invited guests to join Dore & Rees specialists well known to many from the BBC Antiques Roadshow for an afternoon of tales from behind the scenes and an opportunity to have items appraised and valued.  A packed room gathered to be welcomed by Lee Young, Managing Director, and David Daniels of the Bennett Centre.  Marc Allum then took the floor sharing insights to activities behind the cameras on the Antiques Roadshow.

The most anticipated part of the afternoon then unfurled, a chance for guests to share their items with the specialists and find out more about them.  What treasures we saw!  Beautiful pieces of jewellery, silver, ceramics, bronzes, car mascots and pictures were revealed including a Thai bronze figure, a tempura painting, a rare chronometer and an early example of a travellers trunk by Louis Vuitton which was consigned on the spot.  It will be offered in the Select Interiors auction on 24 August at an estimate of £3,000 - £4,000.

We look forward to hosting further Valuation events in the months ahead, keep an eye on doreandrees.com for more.
